Details: At 508 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Nordheimer Campground, or 11 miles east of Orleans, moving east-northeast at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Outflow winds in excess of 40 mph. This outflow may travel several miles away from the storm that created it.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include... Nordheimer Campground.

Details: • IMPACTS...Given the recent prolonged stretch of very hot and very dry conditions, lightning efficiency will be high to very high for fire starts. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
• AFFECTED AREA...All of fire weather zone 280 (zone 280 includes the entire Salmon River watershed except the Butler-Somes Bar area). This includes the Shelly Fire.
• THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered thunderstorms are expected today. Lightning strikes outside of precipitation cores are possible and cause for concern.
• OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusts up to 35 mph. These outflow winds can travel up to 50 miles away from the thunderstorm that caused it.
• ADDITIONAL INFORMATION...Thunderstorms will trend wetter today, but remain a mix of wet and dry storms.

Monsoon moisture combined with increasing upper level winds will aid in continued isolated thunderstorms Monday afternoon focused around the Klamath Mountains and south through Trinity County. Any storms will be mostly dry and capable of gusty downburst winds.
• AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 204 (zone 204 includes only the Butler-Somes Bar area of the Salmon River watershed).Fire weather zone 283.
• THUNDERSTORMS...Isolated, mostly dry thunderstorms.
• OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty and erratic outflow winds up to 40 mph with stronger showers or thunderstorms.
• IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
